Mahindra XUV300 With More Power Spied Testing
- The XUV300 petrol will be the first Mahindra to be updated to meet BS6 emission norms.

Recently, the was spotted testing next to the with the model it's based on, the SsangYong Tivoli. Could this test mule be the more powerful BS6-compliant model with a new petrol heart? We believe so.
that will be updated to meet BS6 emission norms and will develop more power than the BS4-compliant model. Currently, its 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit develops 110PS and 200Nm. When it is updated to meet BS6 emission norms, the 1.2-litre Turbo GDI unit will produce 20PS and 30Nm more, making it the most powerful petrol SUV in its segment.
On the other hand, the XUV300's 1.5-litre diesel engine will also be updated to meet BS6 emission norms. The 1.5-litre diesel unit develops 116PS and 300Nm and can be had with either a 6-speed manual or an AMT. The carmaker recently of the XUV300.
The test mule was spied alongside a SsangYong Tivoli that could be used as a benchmarking standard. The Tivoli facelift, which was recently unveiled, comes with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit that develops 163PS of power and 280Nm of torque. Visually, the refreshed model seen here comes with a sharper front bumper along with slight changes to the grilles and headlamps. Inside, it comes with a restyled dashboard that's dominated by a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The analogue dials have been replaced by a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel. Considering the fact that the XUV300 was launched only recently, we don't see it getting these cosmetic updates anytime soon.
The BS6-compliant XUV300 is slated to hit Mahindra showrooms by November. The turbo-petrol variant will hit showrooms first followed by the diesel version at a later stage. Naturally, expect the BS6-compliant model to be priced at a premium over the current model (Rs 8.10 lakh to Rs 12.69 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi).

Meanwhile, Mahindra has started. Codenamed the S204, it will be based on the longer version of the Tivoli called the Tivoli Air. While the official launch date for the S204 is yet to be revealed, we expect it to be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo.
