Sizewise, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is a tad smaller than the, the largest car here. It is shorter than the Renault by 14mm and narrower by 59mm. Even the wheelbase is smaller by 42mm. That said, the S-Presso is the tallest of the lot and is the only model to come with 14-inch wheels. The Datsun redi-GO is the smallest of the lot and lags behind its competitors by a huge margin in all aspects.

All three models come with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that develops similar power and torque figures. That said, the leaked document states that the S-Presso's unit will be a BS6-compliant unit while the one in the upcoming Kwid facelift is expected to be in accordance with the upcoming emission norms. The Datsun redi-GO's unit is currently BS4-compliant. Just like its competitors, the S-Presso is expected to come with a 5-speed manual and AMT transmission options. Maruti might offer a CNG variant later on with the S-Presso.
The Kwid and redi-GO can also be had with an entry-level 0.8-litre petrol engine that develops 54PS and 72Nm. Transmission options for this engine is limited to a 5-speed manual only.

Considering the fact that the Kwid comes loaded with features, we expect the S-Presso to come well kitted as well. Just like the Kwid, we expect the S-Presso to come with features like power steering, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital instrument display, multi-info display, manual HVAC, remote locking and central armrest.
The is the least equipped here. While it comes with basics like power steering, manual HVAC, tachometer and multi-info display, it misses out on a touchscreen infotainment system with USB and AUX-in functionality.

Considering the fact that the AIS 145 Safety Norms are in place, we expect the S-Presso to come with features like a driver's side airbag, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, driver and co-driver seatbelt warning and high-speed alert as standard. These safety features are found in the Kwid and redi-GO as well. Apart from that, we expect top-spec variants of the S-Presso to come with a passenger airbag and rear parking camera as well.

Prices for the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso are expected to start from Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom). If priced right, the S-Presso sits right in the ballpark of its competition, which is an added bonus for Maruti. Also, considering the fact that Maruti has a widespread after-sales network, the late comer S-Presso has an added advantage.
