Upcoming VW ID Crozz Spied Testing For The First Time

is set to kick start its electric campaign with the ID.3 hatchback EV at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show in September. It will be the first car in the I.D. family to be launched. Now, the second product to come out of VW's I.D. family, dubbed the I.D. Crozz, has been spied testing in the wild for the first time. First impression of the crossover is that it resembles the concept showcased in 2017.
Spy shots further reveal that the crossover is likely to slot in between the and the Tiguan Allspace in terms of exterior dimensions. Looking at the rear-end, the I.D. Crozz resembles a hatchback. As expected, the wheels are much smaller than its concept, but we could expect some options for customers in regards to size and design. We do not have any images or details about its interiors as of now but expect it to be as radical as the ID.3.
The I.D. Crozz will be built on the same MEB electric platform as the ID.3. Under the bonnet, the crossover is expected to be powered by two electric motors that could give it a combined output of more than 300PS(224kw). The two electric motors could be placed on each axle to give it all-wheel-drive capability.
It is expected that the I.D. Crozz will have a maximum range of up to 500km via a large battery pack and come with a fast-charger like the ID.3 It is expected to recover up to 80 percent charge in 30 minutes using a 150kW charger. Volkswagen has yet to confirm whether the I.D. Crozz will be offered with the same 8 year/160,000km warranty as the ID.3.
The I.D. Crozz is expected to make its debut internationally well after the launch of the ID.3 hatchback. Production of the EV is expected to take place at Volkswagen's Emden factory in Germany. There is no word yet on whether it will make it into India anytime soon, but with rivals like becoming bullish in this space VW could have enough incentive to do the same.
