The introduction of the black colour in the is a welcome addition. It makes the attractive looking SUV look even meaner. Apart from the introduction of the new shade, other changes on the black edition include a blacked out 17-inch wheels and skid plates at the front and back. The only elements that gives a shade of contrast are the chrome window sills and the badging at the front and rear, which haven't been tinkered with.

Keeping up with the all-black theme outside, the interiors too will get the same treatment. The brown coloured upholstery on the seats and door pads will be replaced by, you guessed it, black Also, the faux wood panel on the dashboard will be replaced by a more tactile looking dark grey one. Neat

With the introduction of the new colour, the Harrier will now be available with a total of six options: Atlas Black, Calisto Copper, Thermisto Gold, Orcus White, Telesto Grey and Ariel Silver.

The 2.0-litre Kryotec engine will be updated to meet upcoming BS6 emission norms and is expected to develop 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque. Currently, it churns out 140PS and 350Nm.

The Harrier is also expected to get a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed automatic transmission which will boost the SUV's appeal further. An all-wheel drive variant is also on the cards further down the line.

Apart from that, Tata Motors is also working on a 7-seater Harrier. Showcased as the Buzzard at the Geneva Motor Show, the model has been and is slated to hit our roads by the end of 2019.
