Nissan To Shy Away From Tablet-Sized Infotainment Systems For Its Cars

The trend of tablet-sized touchscreens, which started with the has revealed its plans to stay away from the trend and instead, work on a touchscreen design that is convenient for the driver.

Rather than a tablet-like touchscreen, Nissan is working on a horizontal design that joins the instrument cluster. This design debuted in the last year, where the EV crossover features a curved, two-screen display reminiscent of a wave. It keeps driving information in an instrument cluster location with entertainment information, comfort controls, and system status displayed on the centre screen.

Tomomichi Uekuri, senior manager of HMI engineering team, revealed that they are adopting this design as it conveys information better for the human eye, from a safer location in the line of sight.
