When it was first launched, the S-Cross was available with either a 1.3-litre or 1.6-litre diesel engine. The latter was the enthusiast's choice, but it was discontinued in the facelifted S-Cross.
The trusty Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre engine didn't make for a slouchy S-Cross, but it did lack the refinement which this well-insulated Maruti deserved. The K15 is likely to make the cabin a nicer place to be in. Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki is also working on a BS6 1.5-litre diesel engine which is.
