Hyundai's lovable 'Santro' nameplate is making a comeback tomorrow after being officially discontinued in January 2015. The spunky little hatchback (and the name) has a small legacy of its own. Known for being roomy, frugal and affordable, the Santro was a popular choice for small families.

Fast forward to 2018, and we have a brand new one. It's based on a new platform and has grown in size too. But bigger updates come in the form of feature additions. Hyundai's small Santro now boasts of goodies such as a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a reverse camera, steering-mounted audio controls, rear AC vents and parking sensors. Safety features such as anti-lock brakes and a driver-side airbag is standard, whereas the top trims feature dual airbags.

Powering the is a heavily reworked version of the 1.1-litre Epsilon motor that we saw under the hood of the Santro Xing. The four-cylinder engine makes 69PS of power and 99Nm of torque. There's a factory-fitted CNG option as well, in which case output drops to 58PS and 84Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual as well as a 5-speed AMT.

We'll get to know prices by noon tomorrow. Considering prices of rivals range from Rs 3.4 lakh - Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom), the Santro should hover around the same price point. Hyundai has promised an introductory price for the first fifty thousand customers too. So we're expecting a really tempting price. Should the worry? We'll know tomorrow
