Tata Nexon EVs Prices Dearer By Rs 26000 Base-Spec XM Exempted

Tata has hiked the prices of its flagship electric SUV, the Nexon EV. One of the best selling EVs in the steadily growing Indian market, the Nexon EV was launched in January priced from Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom), also making it the most affordable EV which offers a range of over 300km.

The base-spec XM variant is exempt from the price hike. The other two variants of the sub-4m Nexon EV are now costlier by Rs 26,000, and the EV is now priced from Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 16.25 lakh. That said, it is still the most affordable long-range EV. This is in comparison with the two compact SUVs, the (Rs 23.75 lakh - Rs 23.94 lakh), which are also both significantly bigger in size than the Nexon EV.
The eSUV offers an ARAI certified 312 km range on a full charge. This comes from a 30.25 kWh battery pack which runs a 129PS electric motor. Two drive modes, Drive and Sport, are available on-board. A DC fast charger requires just 60 minutes for a 0 to 80 percent charge, whereas a 3.3kW AC home fast charger requires 8 hours for a full charge.
On the brighter side of things, Tata is offering . While it sits at a comfortably-priced spot in the EV market, it is set to face some competition in the form of the upcoming Mahindra XUV300 Electric which is set to arrive by 2021.
