Hyundai Xcent To Get CNG Powertrain Will Be Available For Private Buyers
- The Xcent's CNG powertrain will be based on BS4-compliant 1.2-litre Kappa unit.

Earlier, we had reported that . However, a recent RTO document reveals that Hyundai could offer the Xcent with a CNG option. The Xcent CNG will be based on the mid-spec S variant and will be available for both private and fleet buyers. Let's see what the Xcent CNG has on offer for you.
The CNG will come with a BS4 compliant 1.2-litre Kappa powertrain that develops 66PS of power and 98Nm of torque in pure CNG mode. The powertrain develops 82PS of power and 110Nm of torque in petrol mode. Meanwhile, the petrol-only version of the 1.2-litre Kappa motor develops 83PS of power and 114Nm of torque. Just like the Grand i10, we expect the Xcent to come with a 5-speed manual only.

The Xcent's S variant also comes with a decent set of features like a two-din audio system, Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in, manual air-con, steering mounted-audio controls, LED DRLs as well as a multi-info display. Other features include rear seat centre armrest, tilt steering, cooled glovebox, electrically adjustable ORVM as well as front and rear power windows. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, driver and co-driver seatbelt warning as well as a high speed alert.
The Xcent CNG is expected to debut at Auto Expo 2020. It will get updates in the form of a BS6-compliant powertrain before April 2020, which might result in a price hike for the sub-4 metre sedan.
