- a very familiar name. 911 - is even more iconic. If it's one car from Porsche you want to own, it'll be the 911 sports car. And the next-gen 911 is headed to India on 11 April 2019. Let's get straight down to business and find out the changes in the new 911.

1) A 30PS Increment:

The Porsche will come with the same 3.0-litre flat six turbo-petrol engine mated to an 8-speed gearbox. The good news comes in the form of a 30PS increment from the already bonkers figure of 425PS. Available in two variants, the Carrera S can hit 100kmph in 3.7 seconds and maxes out at 307kmph. The Carrera 4S on the other hand hits 100kmph 0.1 second faster and maxes out at 305kmph. If you opt for the Sport Chrono package, the 911 shelves 0.2 seconds from the 0-100kmph times of both of the variants thanks to the inclusion of launch control and an updated map for quicker shifts from the 8-speed PDK gearbox.

2) Updated Looks :

Porsche has kept the basics of the 911's looks the same. So you get the same swoopy looks as the previous-gen model, with updated elements. At the front, expect similarly shaped headlights with different elements inside them. Also, there will be sportier and an aggressive-looking lower grille. On the side, expect the 911 to maintain the same profile with more aggressive-looking wheels. The rear is where most of the changes are. Connected tail lamps ala Cayenne Coupe and aggressive-looking rear exhausts complete the rear look of the car.

3) Interiors:

Things are a lot more noticeably different inside. You'll get a typical Porsche cockpit with a huge rev counter flanked by digital screens on both sides. On the centre console, you now get a huge touch screen infotainment display taking up the functions of the previous cluster of buttons. Move over to the gear console and, just like the Cayenne coupe, you get touch buttons for the air-con controls now in place of the conventional button setup we used to see in Porsches of the past.

The Porsche 911 will take on the likes of the when launched. Expect it to be priced slightly higher than the previous car, which was priced from Rs 1.53 crore for the base Carrera S coupe to Rs 3.88 crore for the top-end GT2 RS variant. The next iteration of the Porsche 911 will be available in coupe or cabriolet forms, with sportier variants expected to join the lineup later
