  • The Marazzo to get a price hike starting January 1
  • Mahindra had announced at launch that the Marazzo's pricing was introductory
  • The Marazzo is currently priced from Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-Delhi) onwards

In case you were planning to get the Mahindra.

marazzo front
has fitted the Marazzo with an all-new 'D15' diesel engine. The D15 is a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine developing 121PS of power 300Nm of peak torque. For now, Mahindra is only offering the Marazzo with a 6-speed manual transmission. The engine has been designed to keep NVH levels low. Using lightweight materials has kept the total engine weight at a low 141kg, an offset crank, patent-pending scissor-gears and a dual-mass flywheel have been added to reduce NVH. A petrol engine and automatic transmission will also be offered on the Marazzo once BSVI emission norms kick in next year.

The Marazzo was launched in September this year at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh and goes up till Rs 13.99 lakh (both, ex-showroom Delhi). While Mahindra hasn't shared the updated variant-wise pricing just yet, you can check out the current pricing below.

Current variant-wise pricing
M2 7-seater - Rs 9.99 lakh
M2 8-seater - Rs 10.04 lakh
M4 7-seater - Rs 10.95 lakh
M4 8-seater - Rs 11 lakh
M6 7-seater - Rs 12.40 lakh
M6 8-seater - Rs 12.45 lakh
M8 7-seater- Rs 13.90 lakh

The Mahindra Marazzo is a truly global product, with most of the development of the MPV done at the company's MANA (Mahindra Automotive North America) development centre in Detroit, design inputs taken from subsidiary Pininfarina and of course the Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai and Mahindra headquarters in Nashik. With bookings of well above 10,000 now and sales of around 3,000-3,500 units every month, the step up in quality seems to have struck all the right chords. However, it would be interesting to see how it fares against the updated Maruti Ertiga due for launch soon.

What do you think - will the price hike and the upcoming Ertiga prove to be a hurdle for the Marazzo in 2019? Let us know in the comments section below.
