Heatwave smashes temp records in Europe
The rising temperatures sent records falling across the Continent, one by one. In Paris, a record set in 1947 — 40.4° Celsius — was broken on Thursday when the temperature soared to 42.6° Celsius, according to the French national weather service, which said the temperatures could rise further.
