Ford Mustang Facelift Slated For India Launch By Mid-2020

- Updated exteriors include revisions to the bonnet, grille, bumper and all-LED lighting.
- Interiors receive updates in the form of a 12-inch instrument cluster, updated infotainment system and reworked seats.
- Could continue with the 5.0-litre V8 petrol mill with upto 450PS of power.
- 6-speed torque converter likely to be replaced with the 10-speed automatic like the US version.
- Expected to carry a premium over the pre-facelift model.
The last year without any camouflage. Here's what's new in the facelift:

On the outside, the facelift receives an extensive update with a redesigned bonnet, grille and bumper. It also gets all-LED lighting for the DRLs, headlamps, indicators tail lights and fog lamps. Inside, the Mustang gets a new 12-inch LCD instrument display, a new infotainment system and reworked seats.

The main talking point in the Mustang is what's under the hood. We expect Ford to continue with the 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine but with a power bump up to 450PS (415PS pre-facelift). The US-spec pony car makes 466PS and 569Nm. Also expect the Mustang to stick exclusively to an automatic transmission in India. However, we expect Ford to replace the 6-speed torque converter with the latest 10-speed automatic like the US spec. Along with the much-loved Line Lock, we're hoping that Ford bundles in the 'Drag Strip' mode as well.

The pre-facelift Mustang is currently sold at a price tag of Rs 74.62 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Expect it to be priced at a premium over its predecessor thanks to the upgrades it gets.
